New Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Teaser Unleashes a Load of Terrified Dinosaurs

Life finds a way. This has been the credo, of sorts, to the entire Jurassic Park/World franchise, from Steven Spielberg’s first, ground-breaking film Jurassic Park to Colin Trevorrow’s massive Jurassic World. No matter how hard humans try to control their dino creations, whether by locking them in pens or designing them in labs, life, which always brings death, finds a way. Jurassic World ended with our hero, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and heroine, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) narrowly escaping the jaws of a suped up, genetically enhanced T-Rex/velociraptor (thanks in no small part to a few of their dinosaur friends) and entering into what one hopes was a rampaging dinosaur free romance. Life found a way, and so did love, and this despite the fact that Claire spent much of the film running from giant predators trying to eat her on extremely high heels. Unfortunately for our two young lovers, things don’t seem to be any less life-threatening for them in our first glimpse of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Here then is your teaser to the upcoming full-length trailer, which drops on Thursday.

While life always finds a way in the Jurassic franchise, so, too, does the need for a really good pair of running shoes. Pratt and Howard are back, along with newcomer Justice Smith, once again running for their lives as the dinosaur kingdom does indeed look to be falling (thanks to what appears to be an exploding volcano.) This is the second teaser we’ve seen, and the one that really gives us a taste of the action to come. The first teaser leaned more to the side of adorability, with Pratt’s Grady gently petting a dinosaur baby.

Fallen Kingdom is directed by J.A. Bayona and co-written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Joining Pratt, Howard, and Smith, are Jeff Goldblum, reprising his original role of Dr. Ian Malcolm, Ted Levine, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Geraldine Chaplin, and Daniella Pineda.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom roars into theaters on June 22, 2018.
