Margot Robbie Reveals the Development of Another Harley Quinn Spinoff
In Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie’s performance as the provocatively twisted, baseball bat swinging supervillain, Harley Quinn, earned high praise for being brilliantly over the top. Although a supervillain, fans immediately fell in love her sweet yet psychotic personality. Thus, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. plans to feature her character, once again, in four upcoming DC films-one of which includes a Harley Quinn solo movie.
Initially perceived as a sidekick and ‘daddy’s little monster’ to her lunatic boyfriend the Joker in the comic book series, the villainous Harley Quinn is set to take center stage as a leading lady in her own film. It has been announced the character will be in Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens and a Harley and Joker movie. However, in an interview with MTV, Robbie revealed the making of a separate Harley Quinn spinoff that she will not only star in but also produce. Robbie confirmed she has been working on the project for almost two years, in conjunction with the other projects that are still in various stages of development. When asked what viewers should expect to see from the spinoff, Robbie expressed her hopes for the inclusion of more female villains. Robbie stated, “She needs her girlfriends. She needs other girls around her because she loves that. You see it in the comics…she needs a little girl gang.” After the introduction of fierce female superheroes like Wonder Woman, it would certainly be amazing to see DC Comics introduce a fearless and villainous girl squad on the big screen.

No word yet on the exact release order of these four films, but you may be able to catch Harley Quinn on TV before see arrives to theaters in a new Harley Quinn animated series on the DC streaming platform. Nothing has been confirmed, but Robbie may even lend her voice to the cartoon character!
