Comic-Con 2017: Check out the Epic Avengers: Infinity War Poster

Hall H is the holy grail of Comic-Con venues, so it is no surprise that the Avengers: Infinity War panel was featured there. While convention attendees were treated to new footage, the rest of us are not so lucky. But fear not: the Infinity War panel did not leave us empty-handed. Instead, fans everywhere can feast their eyes upon a three-part poster for the film, released and painted by Ryan Meinerding, the Head of Visual Development for Marvel Studios.

Fans always knew the array of characters that would appear in Infinity War would be vast; this poster confirms that. With more than twenty characters featured, it’s hard to figure out where to look first. We see familiar faces from previous Avengers films, as well as new additions from films like Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange. We also see, featured at the poster’s center, antagonist Thanos wielding some Infinity Stones. Times are dire indeed if the looks on everyone’s faces are anything to go off of. If only we could see what exactly everyone is looking at.

While it is hard to glean revealing information from the poster, there are several new looks featured. Groot made his debut as a teenager in a mid-credits scene after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and it is this slightly grown-up Groot that we see on the poster. Captain America is also featured, brooding in a beard, next to a now-blonde Black Widow.

Though not the outpouring of details that some were undoubtedly hoping for, it would be reasonable to expect some more info to emerge following the release of Thor: Ragnarok, due out in November, and the arrival of Black Panther, coming next February. Until then, this gorgeous poster will have to tide us over.
