Best of the Super Bowl Spots: Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2
We're rounding up the very best of the Super Bowl's film spots. We've already shared Logan, Transformers: Last Knight and Ghost in the Shell with you, and now we're moving on to another thrilling new teaser.
Classic rock always features big in any Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser, and last night’s Super Bowl Spot didn’t disappoint. Marvel’s latest cosmic adventure dropped a new trailer during the big game set to Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain,” showcasing a ton of new footage.
Our old favorites are back—from Karen Gillan’s Nebula to Michael Rooker’s Yondu to, of course, Vin Diesel’s baby Groot, the new trailer has the same scruffy brand of wise-assery that made the first film so delightful. Vol. 2 is set just two months after the events of the 2014 film, with our beloved guardians arguing, fighting, and coping while Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) tries to uncover his father’s identity.
Along with Gillan, Rooker and Pratt, director James Gunn returns along with the rest of the guardians—Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).
Vol. 2 will introduce us to a host of new characters who are sure to be a big factor in the fate of the guardians and Starlord’s quest. These include Kurt Russell as the sentient planet Ego, Elizabeth Debicki as the villain Ayesha, Pom Klementieff as Drax’s new love interest Mantis, and Sylvester Stallone as a member of the Nova Corps.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5th, 2017.
