Director Jon Favreau Shares The Jungle Book Teaser

Director Jon Favreau (Iron Man) shared a little peek at his upcoming The Jungle Book on Instagram, whetting the appetite of fans of Rudyard Kipling’s stories and Disney’s own classic animated film. Favreau's The Jungle Book is a live-action film, and from this teaser (a full trailer is expected today), there's reason for excitement.

The Jungle Book centers on Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a boy who’s been raised by a family of wolves. Unfortunately for Mowgli, he's no longer welcome in his jungle thanks to tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who has scars from his last encounter with Mowgli's kind. To Shere, Mowgli and his kind are a threat. Thus begins Mowgli's journey, guided by mentor (and panther) Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of…Bill Murray!). The voice cast is sort of insane—along with the aforementioned Elba, Kingsley and Murray, Mowgli's adventure puts him into contact with beguiling creatures like the seductive python Kaa (voice of the ultimate seductress, Scarlett Johansson), and King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken). The cast just keeps on getting more ridiculously A-list—it also includes Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of the protective mother wolf Raksha. The Jungle Book looks like an intriguing blend of live-action and photorealistic CGI animals and environments. Consider us wild for this teaser.
